{ once bitten forever smitten }

By Brit

I recently fell in love with the Swedish fashion brand, Nygårdsanna. Featuring a limited color scale from nature’s palette, lines that flatter and adorn rather than demand attention and making use of natural materials such as linen, cotton and silk, Nygårdsanna somehow manage to turn Swedish folklore into avant-garde creations. The brand has three wonderful stores in Gothenburg, Malmö and Stockholm but the brand name itself comes from Nygården, a farm in Dalarna where Anna Bengtsson’s ancestors lived long ago. Besides the pure beauty of the clothes that I let you discover on the brands website, I am captivated and enchanted by the pale and fragil photographs of Carl Bengtsson who puts the sensibility of the brand perfectly into focus.

{ handmade in sweden }

By Brit

I love the Scandinavian design, I love Sweden and I love the wonderful handmade ceramic creations of Mia Blanche. Mia creates her ceramics in the workshop of Keramikerna, a studio she shares with two other ceramists in trendy Södermalm, the most Southern island of Stockholm. I love her cute dala horse mugs, the butter dishes and simply all of her creations. A pure delight.

Can you believe it, this apartment only has a total surface of just 34 square meters and consists of one room plus kitchen, hallway and bathroom. I found this lovely apartment via Christin’s wonderful blog fine ting og sjokolade.

{ an artists home }

By Brit

This beautiful, eclectic home belongs to Norwegian ceramist Maria Øverby. In a converted school from 1893, she has created a warm family home, full of quirky finds, vintage pieces  and earthy tones.

{ pure }

By Brit

Swedish still life and interior photographer Philip Karlberg transforms a still life into a mystery, riddled with visual clues. His pictures often display a sheen of luxury combined with strong emotions, tense moods, and a visceral feeling of presence. I love the pure zen style of these contemporary apartments published in the March issue of Elle Interiör.
