Formerly a cafe frequented by Flaubert and Maupassant, then grocery store, the pink brick farmhouse ‘La Mule du Pape’  in the village of Vascoeuil, has become the lovely family home and guesthouse of Karine in the minds of those described in the pages of Madame Bovary.
